Coastal Cleanup Day - Jalama Beach

Join LHG member, Karissa Otero, as she leads a Coastal Cleanup Day event at Jalama Beach on September 20th, 2025.

"The largest volunteer effort in California, Coastal Cleanup Day is our day to give back to the ocean, beaches, parks, and creeks that make Santa Barbara County such a wonderful place to live. Get outside, enjoy nature, and remove marine debris from our beaches and waterways."

Each site will have captains (Karissa Otero & Bohdi Crawford for Jalama) on hand to provide necessary instructions and supplies. Feel free to bring your own gloves, buckets, and other reusable cleanup supplies to lessen the plastic footprint of this event. If you don’t have any, the captain will provide them.

Everyone who participates in the cleanup is required to fill out a waiver. This can be done on the day of the event, or by downloading a waiver and bringing it with you.
